More About Peace By Chocolate

For more than 20 years Peace by Chocolate shipped specialty treats all over the Middle East to countries like Yemen, Jordan and Lebanon. Like much of their homeland, the chocolate factory was destroyed in a bombing that forced the Hadhad family to leave everything behind and flee to Lebanon.

For three years they found home in a refugee camp with little opportunity or hope. Their lives had been forever altered and they dreamed of returning to the lives they loved. When the Hadhad family was invited into Canada and became full Canadian citizens their dreams came true. With the support of their new community, Antigonish, and the people of Nova Scotia they have rebuilt their chocolate company and are once again doing the work they love.

As of October 2021 Peace by Chocolate is proud to say that all the Hadhads are now OFFICIALLY proudly Canadians! All the Hadhad family members have been sworn in as Canadian citizens. They are so grateful to be part of this amazing nation of freedom, compassion, and human rights and they are so proud to be Canadians by choice.
