Bronze Expectant Mother Sculpture

This touching bronze sculpture of an expectant mother highlights the love a mother feels for her baby even before birth. Burkina Faso artisans cast it using a lost wax casting method, then hand-paint the details of the dress and headpiece. Designed to sit on the edge of a ledge, shelf or table.

Who Made It: Swahili Modern is a fair trade company that works directly with artisans in several African countries including Burkina Faso, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda and Zambia. Artisan communities have reliable long-term income sources and it provides vital employment for rural women in particular.
