Kenyan Jacaranda Wood Giraffe Sculpture

Talented Kenyan carvers whittle these gorgeous giraffe sculptures from jacaranda wood, finished with burned contours and etched patterns. Because these sculptures are fully handmade, each giraffe exhibits its own characteristics. Because this is a handcrafted item, each will vary slightly.

Who Made It: Swahili Modern is a fair trade company that works directly with artisans in several African countries including Burkina Faso, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda and Zambia. Artisan communities have reliable long-term income sources and it provides vital employment for rural women in particular.
