Tanzanian Thumb Piano

Here's a miniature edition of a fantastic thumb piano. An inexpensive small gift that's just loaded with culture, these sweet little African percussion instruments complement our larger kalimbas. Just large enough to fill the palm of the hand, each is fitted with little tin tines and resonators that give the unmistakable tone of the African thumb piano.

Who Made It: Swahili Modern is a fair trade company that works directly with artisans in several African countries including Burkina Faso, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda and Zambia. Artisan communities have reliable long-term income sources and it provides vital employment for rural women in particular.
