The Akari beanie takes its inspiration from sashiko, a traditional Japanese embroidery technique that dates back to the 17th century and is used to make well-worn garments stronger and warmer. The leaf motif, synonymous with the changing seasons, is distinctly North American. The use of cotton threads for the embroidery creates a textural contrast. Lined around the band for comfort.
Who Made It: Lost Horizons began partnering with women in Nepal over 30 years ago. They are fair trade and have a team of over 600 artisans in the Kathmandu Valley. Stable employment is important in Nepal for countless communities and households to thrive.
