Who Made It: This baking cocoa is made with cacao grown by the farmers of CONACADO and FUNDOPO co-ops in the Dominican Republic. When farmers organize into co-ops they gain crucial market access, run their business democratically, and decide together how to invest in their communities. We've been working in solidarity with CONACADO since 2002. In collaboration with our USAID Cooperative Development Program, they've been able to develop quality control and food safety procedures that have allowed them to achieve prestigious certification for their processing plant.
