This beautiful handmade nativity is made from recycled oil drums by artisans in Haiti, who cut and emboss each detail of the Magi and the holy family. Scene is divided into three parts, which fold out into a free standing triptych-style display.
Who Made It: Your purchase supports resourceful artisans in Haiti by providing an income through the production of beautiful works of art made from recycled metal drums and other local raw materials.
Since 1976, SERRV International has partnered with artisans in Haiti, providing a long-term trading partnership and interest-free advance payment for our orders. Through sales of their products, more than 120 individual Haitian artisans from Cite Soleil, Croix-des-Bouquets, Jacmel, and other impoverished areas in and around Port-au-Prince receive fair prices for their work, advance payments, and financial assistance to families.
SERRV international is one of the first fair trade organizations in the world. They began their mission by helping displaced European refugees trade their handcrafts for income after the Second World War. Since then, SERRV has extended their reach to 24 countries worldwide, working to empower over 8,000 artisans and farmers every year by selling their beautiful handcrafts.
